Online practice tests are available to eligible applicants who register for the QPS Entrance Assessment so that they may have:

  • practice in undertaking tasks that generally reflect the assessment in context, processes, item types, number of questions, and time available
  • an unscaled practice assessment experience.

Please note, the online practice tests are not:

  • supervised
  • completed under assessment conditions
  • trialled in a qualifying test by QPS applicants
  • reported on Australian Core Skills Framework scale scores, but on raw scores.

Scores from the online practice tests are indicative only, and do not determine how you might perform in the assessment nor your ability in a particular skill area. They are for practice only and can't be used for any other purpose such as appealing, qualifying or academic result.

ACER is able to provide these online practice tests at a minimum cost, but does not:

  • offer a support service to users of this service
  • provide guidance or feedback regarding questions or answers
  • respond to queries concerning their content.

Purchasing an online practice test provides a single set of questions that an applicant can attempt multiple times over a 12-month period. No further questions are provided.

All raw scores are available for viewing after you have completed an assessment. These scores are not recorded, so when a test has closed all answers and past scores are erased to allow for another attempt. ACER provides no access to previous scores and does not store this data. If you scored over the suggested pass mark, you should review any areas you had difficulty with and seek resources and assistance.

If you scored below the suggested pass mark, considerable additional revision or study would be appropriate. Consider these options:

  • purchase the Practise Now! QPS Entrance Assessment book through the applicant portal.
  • seek support from an education provider
  • source additional practice materials in the skill area
  • delay the test to a future date to allow time for further learning to take place.

The ACER Online Writing practice assessment is only provided as an unscored practice assessment experience. Writing practice is a marked component in the Entrance Exam that cannot be accurately replicated in a practice environment. The assessment provides an opportunity for applicants to type a response to a topic and be provided with a sample answer to review their response against. Applicants should use this assessment to:

  • familiarise themselves with the style of the assessment
  • practice editing their writing without the use of common computer functions such as spell check and grammar check.
