All applicants for the QPS entrance assessment (QPSea) must first register with Queensland Police.

Your invitation from Queensland Police will include a link to the ACER Portal and a timeline for completing your registration. A voucher may also be included to cover the cost of your QPSea.

You may register for an appointment up until 72 hours before the time you wish to complete your QPSea.

How to register

  1. Register with Queensland Police and receive your invitation to sit the QPS entrance assessment
  2. Visit the ACER Portal.
  3. Create an account.
  4. Select your test date and test location.



What you need for registration

Fees

Queensland Police sponsors your first attempt at the QPSea and will provide a voucher to pay for the fee. The voucher details are entered at the time of booking in the ACER Portal.

Self funded

If you missed your QPSea appointment and wish to continue you application, you may be permitted to self-fund a further opportunity. 

The full cost is: $285.00 (incl. GST) and can be paid through the ACER Portal.

Re-sit fees

If you fail one or more test components on your first attempt, you will be given one opportunity to re-sit the failed components.

Queensland Police will sponsor the payment if you have failed 1 or 2 components. If you fail more than 2, you will be required to pay $285.00 (incl. GST) to re-sit the assessment.

Late rescheduling fees

If you are unable to attend your booked assessment within 72 hours of your start time, you can pay a late reschedule fee of $100 (incl. GST) to reschedule to a later date. Reasons for late rescheduling may include illness or technology issues.

Rescheduling

Rescheduling is permitted up until 72 hours before your assessment. You may choose to change your assessment date, time or mode of testing. You can make your own changes within the ACER Portal.

If you decide to cancel your QPSea, you must do so at least 72 hours before your booking.
