ACER provides results to all applicants, and Queensland Police, within 7 business days of completion of the assessment.

Applicants will be notified by email when results are ready to download from the ACER Portal.

QPSea scores

You must achieve the minimum standard for all three components of the assessment in order to progress your application with Queensland Police.

Scores for each component are mapped against the Australian Core Skills Framework, which is the Australian Standard for Literacy, numeracy and digital literacy.

Scaled scores

Your scores will be presented as ‘scale scores’ rather than as a percentage. The benchmark score will be presented on your results certificate, and you must score higher than the minimum score in order to progress.

Results

If you are successful, you will receive a 'Standard Met' result.

Congratulations! You will be contacted by QPS Recruiting within 7 business days about your next step. In the meantime, visit the QPS Recruiting website for more information on the recruitment process.

If you are unsuccessful, you will receive a 'Standard Not Met' result.

Re-sitting your assessment

QPS Recruiting allows applicants a second attempt to successfully pass the Literacy, Abstract Reasoning, and Writing components of the QPSea. If you did not successfully pass one or more of these components on your first attempt, you will be able to book a re-sit through the ACER portal. You will only be required to re-sit the section/s you have failed.

Currency of Results

On successful completion of all components, your results remain valid for 3 years from the date of the assessment. This means that if you do not complete your recruitment with Queensland Police and decide to reapply again within 3 years, you may be permitted to skip the QPSea and use your existing results.

Withholding of results

If it is decided that you demonstrated misconduct during your QPSea, ACER may withhold your results.

If you failed to pay a late reschedule fee for changing your date within 72 hours of the test booking, your results will be withheld until payment is completed.

Appeals

ACER and QPS will not enter into appeals about results.

Should you wish to query a particular question on the day of the test, you should alert the supervisor to your concern and submit an incident report before you leave the test centre or proctored sitting.

You may email ACER at qps@acer.org immediately after your test with an explanation of the issue. The query will be reviewed by the ACER QPS Entrance Assessment Office, along with the notes from the supervisor, and you will be notified of the outcome.

Similarly, any complaints relating to the test venue or physical discomfort suffered should be reported to the supervisor on the day of the assessment.

It is not possible to give special consideration for impaired performance on the day of the assessment caused by illness or other unexpected personal situations.
